International Women’s Day – Tackling stigma in women’s health services

Stigma affects almost all women’s health issues, including abortion and contraception, menstruation, maternity, and many gynaecological conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, fistula, infertility, incontinence and many others. Healthcare professionals tend to care deeply about the people and communities they serve and are in a unique position to see, challenge and address stigma.

By making stigma more visible, we hope to enable the healthcare stakeholders to anticipate, plan for and address stigmatisation.
